These savory kielbasa bites are coated in a sticky, caramelized bourbon brown sugar glaze, making them a quick and impressive snack perfect for casual get-togethers or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or neutral cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, bourbon whiskey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper to make the glaze.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add kielbasa slices in a single layer without overcrowding and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and slightly crispy.
  4. Pour the glaze over the browned kielbasa slices. Reduce heat to medium-low and gently toss or spoon the glaze over the pieces. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the bites with a sticky, glossy finish.
  5. If the glaze starts to stick or burn, reduce heat and add a splash of water or more bourbon to loosen it.
  6. Transfer the glazed kielbasa bites to a serving platter and serve warm.

Notes

Use medium heat to avoid burning the glaze. Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure kielbasa crisps nicely. You can prepare the kielbasa slices and glaze ahead of time and combine just before cooking. For a gluten-free version, verify the kielbasa brand. Substitute bourbon with whiskey, dark rum, or apple/white grape juice for non-alcoholic option.
