A vibrant and tangy frozen blue raspberry margarita with a spicy Tajín rim, perfect for summer parties and backyard gatherings. Easy to make with simple ingredients and a unique twist on the classic margarita.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco
  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) Blue Raspberry Syrup
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Triple Sec or Orange Liqueur
  • About 2 cups (475 ml) Ice
  • Tajín Seasoning (for rim)
  • Coarse Salt (for rim)
  • Lime Wedge (for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Mix equal parts Tajín seasoning and coarse salt (about 1 tablespoon each) on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the seasoning mix. Twist gently until the rim is evenly coated. Set aside.
  2. Juice the Limes: Roll the limes on the counter to soften, then cut and juice until you have approximately 1 oz (30 ml) per drink.
  3. Blend the Margarita: In your blender, combine 2 oz (60 ml) tequila, 1.5 oz (45 ml) blue raspberry syrup, 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice, 1 oz (30 ml) triple sec, and about 2 cups (475 ml) of ice. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and thick but still pourable. If it’s too thick, add a splash of water or lime juice; if too thin, add more ice.
  4. Check Flavor and Texture: Taste the margarita. If it’s too tart, add a bit more syrup; if too sweet, add a little extra lime juice. The texture should be cold and slushy but not icy.
  5. Pour and Garnish: Carefully pour the frozen margarita into your prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim for a fresh touch.
  6. Serve Immediately: Serve right away before it melts and dilutes.

Notes

Use fresh, cold ice for best texture. Balance sweetness and tartness by tasting as you blend. Rim glasses evenly but not too thick with Tajín and salt. Pulse blender first to crush ice before blending at high speed. Keep glasses chilled before serving. For a lighter version, use sugar-free syrup or add soda water. Store leftover margarita in freezer up to 24 hours and re-blend with ice before serving.
