A quick and easy patriotic snack featuring crunchy pretzel rods dipped in creamy white chocolate and decorated with red and blue sprinkles and stripes. Perfect for summer gatherings and festive celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pretzel rods, about 6 inches long, sturdy and thick
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or candy melts
  • Red and blue sprinkles (star-shaped, round, or sugar crystals)
  • Optional: 2 ounces red candy melts
  • Optional: 2 ounces blue candy melts
  • Wax paper or parchment paper for setting

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Melt 12 ounces of white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second bursts, stirring between intervals until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip it into the melted white chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the rod. Tap off excess chocolate.
  4. Place the dipped pretzel on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Immediately sprinkle red and blue sprinkles onto the wet chocolate before it sets.
  6. Optional: Melt red and blue candy melts separately using the same 30-second burst method.
  7. Drizzle thin lines of red and blue candy melts over the dipped pretzels using a spoon or piping bag to create stripes.
  8. Allow pretzels to set at room temperature for 20-30 minutes or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until hardened.
  9. Store in an airtight container if not serving immediately.

Notes

If white chocolate thickens while dipping, gently warm again in short bursts. Avoid dipping warm or moist pretzels to prevent chocolate from seizing. Work in batches for best results. Sprinkles should be applied quickly before chocolate sets. Use a piping bag or zip-top bag with a small corner cut for neat stripes.
