Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) cherry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka (adjust to taste)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) boiling water
  • 2 tbsp (25 g) granulated sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) coconut milk (full fat for creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) blue raspberry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka

Instructions

  1. Make the Red Layer: Dissolve cherry gelatin mix in 1 cup boiling water, stir 2 minutes until dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold vodka and stir gently. Pour evenly into shot glasses filling about one-third full. Chill 30–45 minutes until firm but tacky.
  2. Prepare the White Layer: Bloom unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water for 5 minutes. Dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup boiling water. Add bloomed gelatin to hot sugar water and stir until dissolved. Stir in coconut milk and 1/2 cup cold vodka. Cool to room temperature (~10 minutes) without setting. Pour gently over red layer. Chill 30–45 minutes until firm.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue raspberry gelatin mix in 1 cup boiling water, stir 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cold vodka and mix. Cool slightly. Pour over set white layer carefully. Chill at least 2 hours until completely firm.
  4. Serve chilled. Optionally garnish with fresh berries or small star-shaped fruit cutouts.

Notes

Timing is crucial to prevent layers from mixing; chill each layer until firm but tacky before adding the next. Use a gentle pouring technique with a ladle or spoon. Keep jello shots covered loosely with plastic wrap to avoid fridge odors. Avoid freezing to prevent texture changes. Non-alcoholic versions can substitute vodka with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water.
