Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 oz (85 g) red flavored gelatin powder (e.g., strawberry)
  • 3 oz (85 g) blue flavored gelatin powder (e.g., blueberry or raspberry)
  • 1 packet (about 1 tbsp or 7 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water (for red layer)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water (for blue layer)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) boiling water (for white layer)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water (for red layer)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water (for blue layer)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) cold water (for white layer)
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) sweetened condensed milk (for white layer)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka (can substitute with flavored vodka or other spirits)
  • Optional garnishes: edible glitter, sprinkles, tiny star-shaped candies

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup (240 ml) of water. In a bowl, dissolve 3 oz (85 g) red flavored gelatin powder in the boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
  2. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water and 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka to the red gelatin mixture; stir gently to combine.
  3. Carefully fill each shot glass about 1/3 full with the red mixture.
  4. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until firm but slightly tacky to the touch.
  5. For the white layer, dissolve 1 packet (about 1 tbsp or 7 g) unflavored gelatin in 1/4 cup (60 ml) boiling water.
  6. Stir in 3/4 cup (180 ml) sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup (60 ml) cold water, then add 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka.
  7. Gently pour the white mixture over the set red layer, pouring slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing.
  8. Refrigerate for another 20-30 minutes until firm.
  9. Repeat the red layer steps using 3 oz (85 g) blue flavored gelatin powder dissolved in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water, then add 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water and 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka.
  10. Pour the blue mixture over the white layer carefully and chill for at least 2 hours to fully set.
  11. Garnish with edible glitter or small star sprinkles if desired. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

Chill each layer until firm but slightly tacky before pouring the next to prevent mixing. Pour new layers slowly over the back of a spoon. Avoid shaking the glasses once filled to keep layers distinct. For a dairy-free creamy layer, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream or almond milk condensed milk. Non-alcoholic versions can replace vodka with sparkling water or fruit juice. Store covered in refrigerator up to 3 days. Avoid freezing.
