Ingredients
- Sharp white cheddar, sliced
- Fresh mozzarella balls or slices
- Optional: Cream cheese spread
- Fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- Red grapes or cherry tomatoes
- Fresh blueberries
- Optional: Blackberries
- Assorted crackers (water crackers, multigrain, or buttery style)
- Baguette slices, toasted
- Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Optional: Honey or fig jam for drizzle
Instructions
- Wash all fruit thoroughly and pat dry. Hull and slice strawberries about 1/4 inch thick. Slice the cheddar and mozzarella into even strips about 1/2 inch wide. Toast baguette slices if using.
- On your serving board, form the red and white stripes horizontally across by alternating rows of sliced strawberries and white cheeses (cheddar and mozzarella). Use enough slices to cover the board’s width in neat rows.
- In the top left corner, arrange a small rectangular area about one-third the board’s width across and half the height down. Fill this space densely with fresh blueberries. Optionally tuck in a few blackberries or fresh mint leaves around the edges.
- Fill the remaining empty spaces along the edges or in a separate small bowl with crackers and baguette slices arranged neatly for easy access.
- Optionally drizzle a light amount of honey over the cheese rows or add small dollops of fig jam on the side. Garnish with fresh mint leaves scattered around the board.
Notes
Assemble the board close to serving time to keep cheese fresh and fruit from getting soggy. Store crackers separately until ready to serve to keep them crisp. Use a sharp knife for clean slices. Pat fruit dry before assembling. For vegan or gluten-free options, use plant-based cheeses and gluten-free crackers.
