A quick and easy non-alcoholic punch made with apple cider, caramel syrup, and fresh fruit, perfect for kids’ parties and fall gatherings. Ready in under 10 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apple cider or apple juice
  • 1/2 cup caramel syrup
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 large apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 34 cinnamon sticks
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Optional: Star anise or cloves

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the fruit. Rinse the apple, orange, and cranberries. Slice the apple and orange into thin rounds (about 1/4 inch thick). Leave the peels on. If using frozen cranberries, no need to thaw. Toss apple slices in a little lemon juice if making more than an hour ahead to prevent browning.
  2. Combine the liquids. In a punch bowl or pitcher, pour in the apple cider, caramel syrup, and cold water. Stir gently with a wooden spoon until the caramel syrup is fully dissolved (about 30 seconds). Taste and add more water if too sweet.
  3. Add the fruit and spices. Drop in the sliced apples, oranges, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks. Add star anise or cloves if using. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Chill before serving. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. If in a rush, add a few ice cubes (will dilute slightly).
  5. Give it a final stir right before serving. Ladle into cups, making sure each serving gets fruit and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Notes

For best flavor, let the punch sit for a few hours before serving. The fruit looks prettiest if added just before serving, but flavor is best if it sits. To prevent apple browning, toss slices in lemon juice. For a fizzy version, replace water with sparkling apple cider or ginger ale (add just before serving). For a warm version, heat cider and syrup in a slow cooker on low for 2 hours, then add fruit and spices. Leftover punch can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
