Instructions

  2. Prepare the cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, combine 8 ounces softened cream cheese with 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Mix well using a spatula until creamy and evenly blended.
  3. Add seasonings: Stir in 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives, salt, and pepper to taste. If you like a little heat, add 1 teaspoon hot sauce here. Mix thoroughly until the flavors are evenly distributed.
  4. Shape the cheese ball: Lay out a large sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Spoon the cheese mixture onto the center and fold the wrap up to form a ball. Using your hands, gently mold it into a smooth sphere about 5 inches (12 cm) in diameter. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  5. Apply the black sesame crunch: Once chilled and firm, unwrap the cheese ball and place it on a shallow plate or tray. Sprinkle the toasted black sesame seeds evenly all over the surface, pressing down gently to adhere.
