These easy mummy hot dogs with mustard eyes are the perfect Halloween treat. Wrapped in crescent dough and baked until golden, they’re quick, fun, and kid-approved.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 12 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Optional: ketchup, ranch dressing, honey mustard, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into the 8 pre-perforated triangles. Lay them flat on a clean cutting board.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. A pizza cutter makes this easy.
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping the dough strips around it. Leave a little space between the strips so it looks like mummy bandages. Leave a small gap near the top of the hot dog for the eyes.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dog on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs and dough strips. Space them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Add the mustard eyes. Use a toothpick or a small squeeze bottle to dab two small dots of yellow mustard near the top of each hot dog.
  9. Serve immediately while they’re warm and the dough is still flaky.

Notes

Don’t over-wrap the dough; leave space between strips for puffing. Use room temperature dough to prevent cracking. Add mustard eyes after baking to avoid smearing. For extra golden color, brush dough with egg wash or milk before baking.
