Fun and easy Halloween mummy hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough, served with a spider web ketchup that takes seconds to make. Perfect for parties and family fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (regular size, not jumbo)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 candy eyes
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough onto a cutting board. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips about 1/2 inch wide.
  3. Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, overlapping slightly, leaving space at the top for eyes. Press ends to seal.
  4. Beat egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush egg wash over dough strips. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes, then press candy eyes into the exposed hot dog at the top.
  7. For spider web ketchup: whisk together ketchup, mayonnaise, and water until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or squeeze bottle.
  8. To create spider web design: squeeze a small circle of ketchup in the center of a plate, then concentric circles around it. Use a toothpick to drag lines from center outward through all circles.

Notes

Keep dough cold to prevent shrinking. Don’t wrap too tightly. Watch oven closely to avoid burning. Make extra spider web ketchup as it’s popular. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated or frozen unbaked.
