A quick and easy Halloween treat featuring salty pretzels, creamy chocolate, and creepy candy eyeballs. This no-fuss recipe comes together in under 15 minutes and is perfect for parties, potlucks, or a spooky movie night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, divided
  • 1 cup candy eyeballs
  • ½ cup festive sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Spread mini pretzel twists evenly in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbling (3-4 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Drizzle the hot butter mixture over the pretzels, spreading gently with a spatula to cover as many as possible.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the butter mixture bubbles and pretzels look slightly toasted. Let cool on the counter for exactly 5 minutes.
  6. While the base cools, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with ½ tablespoon coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring well after each, until smooth (about 1.5-2 minutes total).
  7. Pour melted semi-sweet chocolate over the pretzel base and spread evenly to the edges.
  8. In a separate bowl, melt white chocolate chips with remaining ½ tablespoon coconut oil in 30-second bursts, stirring well, until smooth.
  9. Drizzle white chocolate over the semi-sweet layer using a fork or small spoon. Immediately press candy eyeballs into the bark randomly. Add sprinkles if using.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until completely firm.
  11. Remove from baking sheet, place on a cutting board, and break into irregular pieces with a sharp knife.

Notes

Don’t overbake the pretzel base (8-10 minutes max). Let the base cool exactly 5 minutes before adding chocolate. Coconut oil prevents chocolate blooming. For best texture, store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a week. For dairy-free, use dairy-free chocolate and vegan butter.
