A collection of quick, festive, and colorful bite-sized snacks perfect for Fourth of July celebrations, featuring fresh fruits, veggies, creamy dips, and simple bases.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Cucumbers (sliced into rounds or spears)
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved or quartered)
  • Celery sticks
  • Cream cheese (softened)
  • Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • Sour cream
  • Ranch seasoning mix
  • Shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Mini pita breads
  • Tortilla wraps
  • Crackers
  • Rice cakes
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Fresh herbs (mint or basil)
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Smoked paprika
  • Cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse all fresh produce thoroughly. Hull and slice strawberries into thin pieces. Halve or leave blueberries and raspberries whole. Slice cucumbers into thin rounds or sticks, and cut cherry tomatoes in halves or quarters to avoid bursting.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese with a splash of milk or Greek yogurt to thin it slightly. Add ranch seasoning or fresh herbs, salt, and pepper to taste. For a sweeter dip, blend Greek yogurt with honey and a dash of vanilla extract.
  3. Cut mini pita breads and tortilla wraps into bite-sized triangles or circles. Toast lightly if desired. Arrange crackers or rice cakes on your serving tray.
  4. For fruit kabobs, alternate strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries on skewers. For savory bites, spread cream cheese mixture on pita triangles, top with cucumber slices and a sprinkle of paprika. Mini pita pizzas with tomato, cheese, and basil also work well.
  5. Drizzle honey over fruit bites or add a squeeze of lemon juice to veggie snacks. Garnish with fresh herbs for color and aroma. Arrange everything on the platter thoughtfully so the red, white, and blue colors pop.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for about 20 minutes before spreading for easier application. Keep fruit kabobs wrapped and refrigerated until serving. For vegan or dairy-free options, substitute cream cheese with plant-based spreads and use gluten-free crackers or wraps as needed. Avoid sogginess by placing juicy ingredients last and assembling bases just before serving.
