Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup blueberries or blackberries
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • Fresh basil or mint leaves (optional)
  • 4 pita breads (or store-bought pita chips)
  • Mini pretzels
  • Assorted crackers
  • Popcorn kernels (optional for fresh popcorn)
  • Fresh parsley or dill sprigs
  • Edible flowers (optional)
  • Blue and red food-safe toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dips: In a medium mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt. Stir in 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until smooth and creamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Prepare the fresh ingredients: Rinse 1 pint of cherry tomatoes and slice them in half. Rinse 1 cup of blueberries or blackberries and pat dry. Slice 1 cucumber into thin rounds and cut 1 red bell pepper into strips. Keep everything chilled until assembly (about 10 minutes).
  3. Make or arrange the base: If making homemade pita chips, preheat oven to 375°F. Cut 4 pita breads into triangles, place on a baking sheet, lightly brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 10-12 minutes until crisp and golden. Let cool completely. Alternatively, arrange store-bought pita chips, crackers, and mini pretzels on a serving platter.
  4. Assemble the snack platter: Spread the prepared dip into small bowls or ramekins. Arrange the fresh tomatoes, blueberries, cucumber slices, and bell pepper strips around the dips. Fill gaps with pita chips, pretzels, and crackers. Garnish with fresh basil or mint leaves and sprigs of parsley or dill. This takes about 10 minutes.
  5. Final touches: Add decorative toothpicks or skewers for easy grabbing. Optionally drizzle a few drops of olive oil on the dips or sprinkle extra smoked paprika on top. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese well before mixing to avoid lumps. Flip pita chips halfway through baking for even crispness. Prepare dips first and chop veggies while chips bake to save time. Store dips and veggies separately if prepping ahead. Use gluten-free chips or crackers for gluten-free diets. Swap dairy ingredients for vegan alternatives if needed. Stir dips before serving if watery. Toast leftover chips at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to revive crispness.
