Thin, delicate apple slices coated with cinnamon sugar and air fried to a perfect crisp. A quick, easy, and wholesome snack with a satisfying crunch and cozy flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly to remove moisture.
  2. Slice apples thinly (about 1/16 inch or 1.5 mm) using a mandoline or sharp knife, removing seeds and core bits.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cinnamon, sugar, and optional salt.
  4. Add apple slices to the bowl, drizzle with oil, and toss gently to coat.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the slices and toss again to evenly coat.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Arrange apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  8. Air fry for 12 minutes, flipping slices halfway at 6 minutes.
  9. Check crispness and cook an additional 3 to 6 minutes as needed, watching closely to avoid burning.
  10. Remove chips and cool completely on a wire rack or parchment paper to crisp further.
  11. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

Use firm, fresh apples without bruises for even drying. Slice uniformly thin for best crispness. Preheat air fryer to improve texture. Flip slices halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping. Cool chips on a wire rack to maintain crunch. Re-crisp in air fryer if chips soften after storage.
