A warm, cozy, and naturally purple Halloween punch made with frozen mixed berries, apple cider, and warm spices. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for fall gatherings or a quiet night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups frozen mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4–5 whole cloves
  • 3–4 thin slices fresh ginger
  • Optional garnishes: thin apple slices, star anise, fresh rosemary sprigs, or cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine frozen mixed berries, apple cider, lemon juice, and honey or maple syrup.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and fresh ginger slices.
  3. Place over medium-high heat and bring to a gentle simmer (not a rolling boil).
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and gently press the berries with a wooden spoon to release their juices.
  5. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
  6. Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl or heatproof pitcher. Discard solids.
  7. Ladle into mugs and garnish as desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t boil the punch; a gentle simmer is best. Taste as you go and adjust sweetness or acidity. The punch can be made ahead and reheated. For parties, transfer to a slow cooker on ‘warm’ setting. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 5 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
