Creamy deviled eggs with a layer of hot honey and crispy bacon. A perfect appetizer that balances sweet, spicy, and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (Duke’s or Hellmann’s)
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon hot honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
  • Fresh chives, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a large pot. Cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat (8-10 minutes). Cover, turn off heat, and let sit for exactly 10 minutes.
  2. While eggs rest, fill a medium bowl with ice and cold water. Transfer eggs to ice bath using a slotted spoon. Chill for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay bacon slices in a single layer. Bake for 12-15 minutes until deep golden brown and very crispy. Cool on paper towel-lined plate, then crumble into fine pieces.
  4. Peel cooled eggs under running cold water. Slice each in half lengthwise. Place yolks in a mixing bowl; arrange whites on a serving platter.
  5. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, hot honey, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to yolks. Mash with a fork until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Spoon filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or snip corner of a zip-top bag). Pipe filling into each egg white half, mounding slightly.
  7. Drizzle about 1/4 teaspoon hot honey over each filled egg. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top. Garnish with fresh chives and a dusting of smoked paprika. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

Notes

Use older eggs (1-2 weeks old) for easier peeling. Warm hot honey slightly for smoother drizzling. Add bacon garnish just before serving to keep it crispy. The filling can be made up to 6 hours ahead; store assembled eggs in refrigerator.
