These easy Halloween bat wings are made with apple slices, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. They are a quick, no-bake, and healthy treat perfect for Halloween parties, school events, or spooky movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2432 mini chocolate chips
  • Optional: flaky sea salt, white chocolate chips, cinnamon, caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  2. Slice the apples vertically into 1/4-inch thick slices, working around the core. Aim for 6-8 slices per apple.
  3. Lay each apple slice flat and cut a small notch out of the top edge to create the ‘shoulder’ of the wing. Then cut 3-4 small V-shapes along the bottom edge to create the jagged bat wing look.
  4. Remove any seeds from the slices with the tip of a knife.
  5. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter along the straight edge of each slice (the side closest to the core).
  6. Place two mini chocolate chips on the peanut butter near the top of the slice to create the bat’s eyes. Press gently to secure.
  7. Optional: For a full bat shape, spread peanut butter on the straight edge of two slices and press them together at an angle.
  8. Arrange the bat wings on a serving platter. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 4 hours.

Notes

For best results, use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples as they brown slowly. To prevent browning, dip apple slices in lemon water (1 tablespoon lemon juice per cup of water) for 5 seconds, then pat dry before spreading peanut butter. If peanut butter is too thick, microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften. For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or WowButter.
