A fresh and flavorful twist on the classic Moscow Mule featuring muddled strawberries and basil, perfect for summer gatherings and easy to make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 medium fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 68 fresh basil leaves, gently torn or muddled
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 46 ounces chilled ginger beer
  • 0.5 to 1 ounce simple syrup (optional)
  • Plenty of cubed or crushed ice
  • Strawberry slices and basil sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Muddle the quartered fresh strawberries and torn basil leaves gently in a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker for about 30 seconds to release juices and aromas without over-muddling.
  2. Add 2 ounces vodka and 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice. If desired, add 0.5 to 1 ounce simple syrup. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Fill the glass or shaker with plenty of cubed or crushed ice.
  4. Slowly pour 4 to 6 ounces chilled ginger beer over the ice and stir gently to mix without losing fizz.
  5. Garnish with a fresh basil sprig and a thin slice of strawberry. Serve immediately in a copper mug or glass.

Notes

Use ripe, juicy strawberries for best flavor. Be gentle when muddling basil to avoid bitterness. Choose a high-quality ginger beer like Fever-Tree or Q Ginger Beer for a natural spicy kick. For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirit. Prepare components separately if making ahead and combine just before serving to keep fizz.
