A quick and easy Greek yogurt bowl featuring fresh orange segments, dark chocolate shards, and a touch of honey, perfect for a festive and comforting breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) full-fat Greek yogurt (or low-fat if preferred)
  • 1 large orange, peeled and segmented (Navel or Valencia)
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate, roughly chopped (70% cacao or higher)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
  • A few fresh mint leaves, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the orange with a sharp knife, removing as much white pith as possible. Segment the orange by cutting between the membranes to get clean slices (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the orange segments with the orange zest and drizzle the honey over the top. Gently toss to coat and set aside for 5 minutes to let flavors mingle.
  3. Roughly chop the dark chocolate into bite-sized shards using a sharp knife (about 2 minutes).
  4. Spoon the Greek yogurt into a serving bowl, swirling lightly if desired for a rustic look.
  5. Top the yogurt with the orange segments, including any leftover juice from the bowl.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped dark chocolate over the orange, followed by chia seeds if using.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately, or chill for 10 minutes if preferred cooler.

Notes

Use fresh oranges for best flavor. Be gentle when tossing orange segments with honey and zest to avoid bitterness. Chop chocolate by hand for varied texture. Optional chia seeds add crunch and fiber. For vegan version, use coconut or almond yogurt and maple syrup instead of honey. Toasted nuts can be added for extra crunch.
