This cozy latte combines homemade sugar cookie coffee creamer with hot espresso for a sweet, buttery, and nostalgic drink reminiscent of holiday mornings. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for family brunches or lazy weekends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 shots (about 1/2 cup) freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup sugar cookie coffee creamer (from above)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, sprinkles, crushed sugar cookies, ground cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Add whole milk and heavy cream to a small saucepan.
  2. Whisk in granulated sugar and melted unsalted butter.
  3. Heat gently over medium-low, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves and mixture is steaming (about 3-5 minutes). Do not boil.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, almond extract, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Let cool for 10 minutes, then pour into a heatproof jar. Refrigerate until chilled (at least 1 hour for best flavor).
  6. Brew 2 shots (about 1/2 cup) of espresso or strong coffee using your preferred method.
  7. Pour 1/2 cup sugar cookie creamer into a mug.
  8. Add hot coffee.
  9. Froth with a milk frother, whisk, or shake in a jar until light and creamy.
  10. Top with whipped cream, sprinkles, crushed sugar cookies, or a dusting of cinnamon as desired.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy hot.

Notes

For dairy-free or vegan, use almond or oat milk and coconut cream, and omit butter. Taste and adjust sweetness before chilling. If creamer thickens in the fridge, warm gently before use. For iced latte, chill coffee and creamer and serve over ice. Store creamer in the fridge for up to 7 days; shake before using.
